Location
The Karingal track is located at the Scout Camp on Karingal Rd just north of Mt Cotton

Go to the end of Karingal Rd, into the Scout Camp and turn left. Keep left on the dirt road
and down to the dam area. The track has been used by the club for several years to run XCO and Enduro events. The track is about 7.7km long with about 230m of elevation gain. Elite male can ride lap times of around 20 minutes. For Sunshine Series 2010 riders will race clockwise, which is a change to previous years which have been anti-clockwise. This will introduce some steep pinch climbs to test the lungs, legs and heart. This investment will be rewarded with a lot of flowing, fast single track. There are several creek crossings and the track follows the riparian zones of the creeks providing a fantastic setting for an XCO race.

Race Numbers will be allocated according to your race category.
Please return your numbers at the end of the day so they can be re-used for the next round.
Plate Ranking
Plate Ranking will only be awarded to pre-entered riders. For round 1, these will be based on results from the 2009 series. For subsequent rounds, these will be based on the cumulative 2010 points.
Race Format
The race will be run as a mass-start with a pre-determined number of laps to be raced. Each category will have differing number of laps, dependent on the target race time, and expected lap time. The number of laps for each course will differ and you will need to check this on race morning.
The first rider across the line after completing the designated number of laps is the winner.
Practice
Official Practice will take place between 7:00 and 7:45am Sunday. There is no requirement to complete a lap, however we strongly recommend familiarising yourself with the venue and course layout.
Brisbane South MTB Club will run a Chase Ride on Sunday 13th June. This is the best opportunity for riders to come and try the course. Details will be confirmed closer to the date.
Practice on race day will take place between 7:00 and 7:45 Sunday 20th June. There is no requirement to complete a lap, however we strongly recommend familiarising yourself with the venue and course layout.
BSMC club members will conduct track preparation and maintenance at various times in the
lead-up to the race. Trail care participants will be able to familiarise themselves with the track and any changes that are made. The Karingal track is on private property and will be officially closed for track familiarisation at all times except those outlined above.
Entry Fees
Entry fees are $45 for all categories except for U17 & U15 at $30 and U11 & U13 at $10. If you do not pre-register online, by postage, fax or email, you will need to also pay a $10 late fee when you register on the day. We also recommend being a full yearly financial member of an MTBA club so you don’t have to pay the day licence fee of $15. Being a yearly member also allows you access to more benefits, coaching and more substantial insurance coverage, including some medical cover.

Commissaires
There will be an MTBA accredited official in charge of racing. If you have any dispute about racing or problems on the day, please ask to speak with the commisaire or the Race Director.
Equipment Requirements
