Onza tyres team up with Grinding Gears for the Mt Perry Gold Rush
KWT and Onza tyres will this year team up with Grinding gears for the 2010 Mount Perry Gold Rush MTB Festival over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend. This year’s event will be held over June 12-14 with 3 days of competitive and social events being held at the picturesque Wolca Reserve, Mount Perry.
2010 marks the 5th anniversary of our prestigious 6 hour cross country enduro. The trail fairies have been hard at work in the past few months and the course has been refined further to add more flow, more passing, and more track side pit sites. Now at just over 11km in length, the course has absolutely everything you could want in an enduro circuit: challenging climbs, breathtaking views, and kilometres of sweeping singletrack like nothing you’ve ridden anywhere else! The course is sure to excite and challenge riders of all skill levels and will be perfect for Onza's new range of performance XC race tyres.
$15,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs over the weekend’s race events including many of Onza brand new and exclusive race tyres.
Outright solo competitors will be fighting for a hot $1000 first prize in both male and female categories and due to popular demand, we will also have several age group solo categories for those who are tough enough to commit to 6 hours of grit and determination.
Got a mate? Our hotly contested pair’s categories (male, female & mixed) will again be racing for a great swag of cash and prizes. Pairing up is a great way to experience bar to bar racing, without having to go it alone for six hours. Triple teams is again the most social of categories but still a great way to tackle the course and experience all aspects of racing, but with a little more time to kick back between laps and take in the event atmosphere.
